A development of Quebec and the town of Victoriaville, Parminou set up Quebec's first theatrical production center in the heart of its adopted town.
This bold and modern architectural concept proposed by architect Christian Ouellet bore witness to the presence in the region of this major cultural enterprise. This building expresses Parminou's ecological concerns through its efforts to integrate a number of passive solar energy recuperation features. A lengthy process of collective thinking and experimenting led to the development of an architectural program which combined quality of life, production efficiency and energy recuperation.
Artistic production and management share the center's 13,500 square feet in harmony. It houses all the professional equipment required for production, marketing and management. The large rehearsal hall can even be used occasionally as a theatre capable of accommodating up to 110 people. Over fifteen permanent and fifty-odd contractual employees, actors for the most part, bring the center to life with their energy and passion.
The site's originality and uniqueness have drawn over 10,000 visitors to its program of guided tours.
